As you've all probably noticed, group submissions have been slow, which we apologize for.
The backlog is finally cleared (except for Lit. submissions - I'll get to this issue later on in this Blog), but this has led me, and the Admin team, to reconsider the rules and guidelines of this group.

We would like to be able to have an open discussion with our members regarding these matters, as rgey are major potential changes to-be, and we ask of you to read the whole Blog before commenting.

First of all, I want to bring up the Literature/Fanart submissions to the folder Pony Lit.
We have been trying to find a dedicated Literature Admin, but as our group's authors have experience, things aren't really moving. I know I don't have time to admin the art submissions as well as the Lit submissions, and I know our other Admins don't either.
Therefore, we have been thinking of closing this folder entirely.
However, if you know you would be a 100% dedicated Lit Admin, who'd be logged on for submissions at least 5 days/week, send the group a note.
If we can't get this running, though, I'm afraid we'll have no choice but to close this folder until further notice.

Secondly, I want to bring up vector art.
In our group rules, we have a point that says;
The gallery is only for original artist work. Please no screenshots, recolors, tracing, and so on.
Then, how is this relevant?
Well, for starters, it's often very hard to determine if certain vector pieces are traced or original, because they're so show-accurate.
We're thinking of just not accepting art that is so show-accurate it could have been a screenshot.
The same goes for the folders Designs and Interfaces, Misc. Ponies and Pony Photography, which are the folders where show(/-accurate) vectors are most commonly used.
Why? This group is meant to showcase original artwork. Even though (traced) show-accurate artwork might have hours of work behind them, you can't get past the fact that it's not original.
How fun and interesting are 100% show-accurate pictures to view according to you?
We'd like to raise discussion on above points. Please give us your thoughts.
Also, we're not talking about not accepting vector art at all. It's just when it comes to the point of not seeing if it's traced or not because it's too show-accurate.
Original vectors would of course be as welcome as ever.

As for Misc. Ponies - Previously, we've accepted Pony Maker ponies into this category.
As this is not original art made by you, it will no longer be accepted (nor will images traced off of Pony Maker pictures be accepted).
Pony Maker games themselves are, however, welcome.

With this said, I would like to urge everyone to double-check what categories you're submitting your art to.

New category descriptions, as well as updated rules will be up in about two weeks, but we would like to see some discussion on this, so we can take your opinions into consideration on matters listed above.
Please comment this Blog post, or send us a Note with your thoughs.

Thanks for your time,
Shaiyeh
and the Admin Team

Personally, traced vectors bother me. They're nothing new, they're like uploading a page of a coloring book. There are a few times when I find them useful for reference, but that only happens 5% of the time. Besides, since the episodes are on YouTube, I can simply go and watch them when I need reference material. It's much more comfortable than having them in my inbox, waiting to be deleted without a second thought. The same goes for Pony Maker ponies or the like. They're like screenshots of games. I'd rather people use the Pony Maker result to draw a picture, then upload that.

I cannot say I can allot any more time to pre-reading fanfics myself as I am an administrator of Fimfiction's fourth largest group, but I'll see if I can find anyone of literary merit to assist you as I think it'd be a shame to let something like this go. If there's one thing Mlp Fim has a lot of, it's fanfiction.

Hopefully one of our members would be more than happy to help you!

That would be wonderful, thank you!

It unfortunately appears that many of the members are either busy (too much so to respond, I guess >.>) or just do not wish to do it, but if worst comes to worst I can see about pre-reading for a while until someone else or elses can take the place. I have writer's block right now anyways...

I'd hate for a group to lose its connection to fanfiction, even if only for a little while. That's not even mentioning that once you do find a guy and word gets out, the poor soul would be flooded with reading to do. Best to keep the tide low while you can.

I love it that you're not allowing the traced vectors. One thing that drives me nuts about the MLP community is how embraced blatant tracing is.
